From a single damaged shingle to deteriorated flashing and persistent leaks, we identify the actual source of the problem before recommending any repair scope.

What Roof Repair Involves

Most roofing issues fall into a predictable set of categories: shingle damage, failed flashings, degraded sealants, compromised underlayment, or problems at penetrations — vents, skylights, chimneys. In each case, the starting point is the same: identifying what's actually failing and why, before deciding what to do about it.

A visible leak inside the house is rarely directly below the entry point. Water travels along roof decks, rafters, and sheathing before finding a way through. For this reason, we approach every repair call with an inspection mindset, working from the symptom back to the source.

Common Repair Scenarios

Active Leaks

Water infiltration through shingles, valleys, or failed flashings. We trace the entry path and address the structural cause.

Missing or Damaged Shingles

Wind-lifted, cracked, or missing shingles that expose the underlayment. Matching replacement materials to existing roofing where possible.

Flashing Failure

Deteriorated, improperly sealed, or displaced metal flashing at valleys, dormers, chimneys, and wall transitions — a common source of leaks.

Penetration Sealing

Boots and collars around plumbing vents, exhaust fans, and skylights that have cracked or separated. These are among the most frequently overlooked leak sources.

Materials We Work With

Our repair work covers the most common residential roofing systems found in Calgary:

  • Asphalt shingles — 3-tab and architectural styles, which account for the majority of Calgary residential roofs
  • Steel and metal roofing — panel repairs, fastener replacement, sealant application
  • Flat and low-slope membranes — EPDM, TPO, and modified bitumen systems common on additions and commercial-adjacent properties
  • Metal flashings — galvanized steel, aluminum, and copper where applicable
  • Underlayment and ice barrier — self-adhering and synthetic underlayments installed during deck-exposed repairs

Maintenance Advice After Repairs

A completed repair extends the life of your roof only if the surrounding system remains in reasonable condition. After any repair work, we typically advise the following:

  • Keep gutters and downspouts clear, particularly heading into winter
  • After major weather events, do a ground-level visual check for obvious displaced shingles
  • Monitor your attic for any signs of moisture or staining
  • Trim overhanging tree branches that can abrade shingle surfaces and deposit debris

Safety on Roofing Projects

Roof work involves fall hazards that require proper equipment and training to manage safely. We use appropriate fall-arrest equipment on all projects and follow occupational health and safety requirements applicable to roofing work in Alberta. We do not recommend homeowners attempt to access pitched roofs without appropriate equipment and experience.
